Zero to Glory in 60 Seconds – Part 2
Enter the Throne Room
Now that we know Heaven is here, and we can enter the throne room of the King of Kings at any time, what’s the purpose of coming into His presence? What was so great a cause that He would die to get us into that room with Him? This great God: who has need of nothing; who created sun, moon and stars; who is mightier and greater than anything; who alone is holy; who has humbled Himself, stooped to our level, shed His own blood, died a criminal’s death… What could be so important to bring Him through hell?
You! This great God has a great love for you! “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.” (Jeremiah 31:3) He has drawn us close to have an incredible and fulfilling relationship with Him: to know His heart, to feel His heartbeat, to be in Him and Him in us. 2 Peter 3:9 says that the Lord is “not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” He desires all of us to know and experience His grace, and most of all, His love. God IS love! The perfect love! Yet, it couldn’t be a love relationship without a return of that love. And so, He offered us the choice. What is your choice? Choose to love, because when we choose to return that love and pour our heart out to Him something miraculous happens! He becomes whatever we need for that instant. He draws us close as Father God, Jesus the Messiah, and God the Holy Spirit.
An encounter with the Trinity might look something like this:
As I enter the holy place I stammer, “Father, you alone are holy. You are God above all gods, creator of the universe. You hold the world in Your hands. I’ve come to you because I’m not sure what to do. Everything is falling apart and I’m powerless to stop it. ” Father God reaches out and says, “My Child, come sit with me a moment.” As I climb in His lap, He wraps His powerful arms gently around me and holds my head to His chest. As I listen to His heart beating He whispers to me, “I have plans for you! What is before you is not beyond Me. Look and see how I am working and moving even now amidst the storm.” I raise my head, wipe my tears and look and see just a glimpse of a grand future. A purpose beyond any I have dreamed of. Amazed and in awe I reply, “But how could I possibly deserve such an incredible plan? I am full of sin. I’m the one who made this mess, remember?” Father God chuckles and returns, “No, I don’t remember. I see my Son in you!” And Jesus steps out with scarred hands, and cries with joy, “My love! I have paid for that! Come and walk with Me.” As we walk I feel seen more than I ever have been. I feel love beyond any I have known on Earth. He sings a love song over me, and before I know it, I’m joining in the song. He dresses me in fine clothing worthy of a queen and something about His gaze puts to death any thoughts I might have had of unworthiness. As I prepare to enter again into my earthly reality, I am met by the Holy Spirit, and although I cannot explain, I know He is living in me and through me and I am filled with strength and courage like I’ve never known. In just a few moments with my God, I have a completely new perspective on what lies before me, and all fear is gone!
An experience like this might just be what happened with Abraham before walking Isaac up that great mountain, and David before bringing home the Ark of the Covenant, and Mary before she conceived Jesus, and Paul on His way to Damascus, and John as he received “Revelation”… Has it happened for you? It can happen for you and I believe it will! Are you ready!?!
